Many Minnows

May 5, 2014

Sometimes there so many minnows it looks like you could walk across them. In the spring I find areas where the fresh water impoundments meet the tidal brackish water and there’re many schools of minnows. It’s interesting to watch them as they swim away from larger fish, birds and my shadow. The picture shows minnows that were all bunched against the side of a bank but I couldn’t tell what they were trying to avoid. They look so pretty when the sun hits the side of them.
